For our first wedding anniversary I planned a surprise trip for Corina and myself to go to Montreal. For me it was a big to-do, since I had never been out of the country. For Corina, well, I think she humored my nervous excitement a bit, her job occasionally takes her on international travel, but it was a big deal to have to finally (at my age!) get a passport. Even she couldn't fake her excitement when I did finally reveal our travel plans. I had bought her tickets to see one of her favorite childhood books come to life via orchestra and movie harmony, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets performed at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletie Place des Arts . If you haven't tried watching beloved movies while a live orchestra plays along, you are surely missing out. Oh and Canada was pretty cool too. I definitely thought about uprooting and planting my family several times as we wandered to our final destination.
Too soon, our adventure in this great nation was complete and it was time for us to return back to the reality of our little Massachusetts hometown. But, for those of you who know me, it should come as no surprise that I managed to squeeze in a little time to explore the nature in the surrounding area. We stumbled onto a little park that was just a short distance from our hotel and bordered a quiet little harbor area. I was enamored of the art which had been put on display and just had to share it with you.
I hope that you can take the time to slow down this fall season and spend some time with the people you love; as for me, I’ll keep looking for the next great adventure as it meets us on the open road.
